We are recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant to work in a Primary School in Rowley Regis on a full-time basis. This role would be to work in an SEN hub, with pupils across the primary age range, with pupils with a range of needs including Autism, ADHD, and Challenging behaviour. The hub has other support staff who work together supporting small groups within the room. There is also a teacher who provides planning for the pupils.
The SEND Teaching Assistant would need to have previous experience working with children and be committed to a full-time, long-term position. Before making a commitment to the role, the school would actively encourage the candidates to come in on a trial basis.
The SEND Teaching Assistant role:
- To provide 1-to-1 support to SEND pupils.
- To build trusting relationships with SEND pupils.
Required Skills and Experience for this Teaching Assistant (TA) role:
- Hold a Level 3 qualification or above.
- Good curriculum knowledge of either Early years (EYFS), Key Stage 1 (KS1) or Key Stage 2 (KS2).
- Experience working in Nurseries or Primary Schools, within the UK.
- A DBS on the update service or issued in the last 12 months.
- A minimum of 2 excellent references
