SEN Teaching Assistant

Job Description

Flourish Education are seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) on a fulltime basis to work in a mainstream primary school in Gloucester. The primary school is in Tuffley and has great access for public transport.

The Supply SEN teaching assistant would need to have previous experience working with children with autism and be committed to a full-time long-term position until the end of the academic year.

The Teaching Assistant is expected to work on a full time basis, 5 days a week support on a 1:1 SEN pupil and classroom support throughout the school.

The role is due to start immediately.

The SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) role

  • To support class teacher with everyday activities.
  • To provide 1-to-1 support and build relationship to designated SEN pupil.
  • Provide safety to the class children.
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour.

Required skills and experience for the SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) role.

  • 1-to-1 SEN experience is essential.
  • Qualified minimum level 2 Teaching assistant or equivalent.
  • Experience working in a nursery or primary school setting.
  • Commitment to long term post.
  • Contact references from all employment in the last 24 months.
  • A clear DBS on the update service.
  • A passion for working with children.

The school is based in Gloucester. The school is easily commutable from Tredworth, Brockworth, Quedgeley, Churchdown, Innsworth and Tuffley. The Primary school offers onsite parking.
